We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The apartment is in the perfect location just minutes walk from the mezquita (the main site in the historic centre). It's in excellent condition and well equipped too. Best of all there's a great view of the Mezquita from the small terrace too. Jeremy Head, Guidebook writer for Frommer's (United Kingdom)
You couldn't ask for a better place to stay to experience Andalusia up-close! We stayed here for a few days and really enjoyed ourselves. The flat is part of a typical Andalusian building and, sitting with a glass of wine with such beautiful surroundings, it lived up to our romantic image of southern Spain. It's located right in the middle of all of the important historic sites that you'll want to see, and a short walk away from some really nice bars and restaurants (the owner has some good suggestions). The pool is small but welcome under the strong Spanish sun! Whole-heartedly recommended!. Dave (United Kingdom)
We were advised we were the first Australians to stay. The apartment was great value and had all the facilities we wanted to ensure a comfortable stay. Our hostess, Begonia was very helpful, both with assisting us to find a carpark and also in returning a jacket to us in Australia which we had left behind. The apartment is ideally located. We would definitely recommend Los Patios de la Juderia as an ideal place to stay in Cordoba. Bill Daw (Australia)
We returned home from Spain on November 9 and, a week later, the snow came to our home in western Canada and the temperature fell one night to -32 degrees. How we wished we were still back in Spain, enjoying the warmth and beauty of Córdoba.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment at Calle Martinez Rucker nº 12 from November 4 to 7, 2010. In our area in Canada, the oldest buildings are scarcely older than one hundred years. To stay in this Córdoba house--four hundred years old--was a definite treat. The location was perfect for our walking tours through the central historical area of the city. Besides shopping and general sight-seeing, we visited the Mezquita, the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos, the Sinagoga, the Museo Arquelógico, the Casa de Sefarad the Torre de la Calahorra and Museo de las Tres Culturas--the latter two just across the Puente Romano from the apartment.
The view at sunset of the Mezquita from the apartment balcony was a real gift. The extensive collection of tourist pamphlets and brochures was most helpful. We appreciated also the DVD collection and the opportunity to watch the movie, Don Quixote, one evening. The apartment--modern inside--was spacious, clean, neat and well-equipped. There was some wine and beer in the refrigerator and there were some other food items left for our use as well. We appreciated this. We loved the two courtyards, one including a small pool, and the greenery and flowers in these two open spaces.
The service from our host, Begoña Lora, was exceptional. She was there when we arrived to welcome us and orient to the apartment and our surroundings. She attended to minor problems immediately. On our departure day, she arrived promptly--in spite of having stayed awake much of the night with a sick child--and she ensured that a taxi came to pick us up at the precise time we had requested.
We don't know if we might ever be able to return to Córdoba--but if we do, we will certainly hope to stay once again at this comfortable, spacious apartment. Barry Cooper (Canada)
The arches of the Mesquita had captured my imagination since childhood when I first saw them in a travel book. The reality of Cordoba lived up to the well nourished dream and the apartment at Los Patios De Juderia only enhanced the experience of a medieval getaway. Tucked away at the bend of of a tiny alley between the Mesquita and one of the many cobbled public squares, the apartment invited us in through a small door inside a large door, a reflection of its roots in the ancient Persian tradition requiring people to lower their heads as they entered a sacred space. Once inside, the arches and courtyard gave way to a charming apartment which met our modern needs without interrupting our fantasies. We felt no need to leave the Juderia as everything we required was within two minutes walking distance: a small grocery, shisha café, rotisserie, wine, music and arab baths. Five minutes more walking and we had it all. Even though our children (11 and 16 years old) were with us, we hardly saw them. With the master bedroom on the ground floor, away from the kids, TV and kitchen, and the streets safe for them to freely explore, we felt like this was the honeymoon we never had. On the few occasions we got together, our gentle host, Begonia, had equipped us with enough local information to make every minute a feast for the senses. We left Cordoba enriched in heart and mind. In only seven days we felt we had visited our childhood homes in the middle-east, paid respect to the culture of our ancestors, and possibly glimpsed our future. Shiraz (United Kingdom)
